This 5-7-5, Strength Beyond Gold, has the right set up and finds that it takes more than bling to keep a marriage together. The united spirit lasts beyond all else.

Wow, this is wonderful, Yvette. I am not often in a booth, sadly, because I missed this contest, but it's because (mainly) I am just not on site enough anymore--I used to be--for the first three or four years. Even to vote for someone else's work requires monitoring. I've missed my OWN contests several times in past when I HAVE entered. LOL. But I see congrats are in order anyway (and it's no surprise to me). or a little form, you've managed the use of poetic device 'til it evokes much sentiment and imagery!

Thanx so much for your review on this one, O Canada Lady (wink, wink). Sometimes the blonde gets 'nostalgic' and that special muse takes the pen.... it's not all that often, but it has been known to happen: case in point...! ;) LOL! So glad you enjoyed a bit of 'serious me'... ;) Yvette

I sure did enjoy it. :) It was lovely, and the timing is excellent, with Valentine's Day coming up.

You have made excellent use of all of your syllables in this poetic expression of the power of love strong enough to weather challenges and remain victorious.

Hello dear Yvette!
I just now glanced at the diamond ring my husband purchased for me for our 20th anniversary - twenty years ago! Its band is a bit worn and bent, but I so love it; I never remove it. I've had it repaired once, and I felt a loss while it was at the jewelers.
Your sentiments resonate deeply with me!
Thank you for sharing!

Such small things but they mean so much, don't they? :) I am so very glad this one resonated with you, Diane -- all the ups and downs and ins and outs make us crazy at times, but we still crawl under those covers together each night (okay, so he gets a cold shoulder once in a while, but we iron it out in the long run...) Thank you for these stars and for sharing just a tiny piece of your heart with me... Stay warm (and inside!!) - all that snow is bad for you! LOL!! ;) :) Yvette

Love's rules can bend to fit changes and circumstances whereas steel bands will break under stress. Great analogy. If home is what it should be, love can be a great healer.

This poem creates such a nice image in my mind, I love that. As always I am impressed at how you can choose just the perfect words to express your ideas. Also, I love the image you chose for this one. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this poem.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about gold objects that can do nothing for our souls but the gold of truth in the word of God will prepare us for the eternal life we wish to obtain.

A well written 5-7-5 that speaks to me of an old married couple whose love for each other still holds true after all those long years of marriage. That their marriage rings are now battered and out of shape but they are only rings after all what is special is that the love that binds them is perfect still.0

I don't give out many six stars because I always seem to see somewhere that a piece can be improved. This one is six worthy as it is beautifully presented, matched in correct format and outstanding theory. Good luck. xoxo Kiwi

Thank you, Kiwi! Such a lovely surprise this morning - I am grateful you got everything I was trying to 'write' into this one and that it touched you the way it did.... I worry when its so limited, ya know?! Take care and Happy Sunday, my lady!

I love the title of your poem and the whole idea of it. Real love withstands the tests of time and is stronger than gold! If your hearts are at home with one another, that's a priceless thing indeed. And real love does involve resolve -- an act of the will. It is a commitment. All the words in your poem are important!
