I enjoyed this piece. I'm a prisoner of my mind as well. I haven't been diagnosed, but I know that bipolar disorder runs in the family, and it can be a struggle. Thanks for sharing the info on bipolar disorder, good luck.

Thank you for appreciating! I?m sure you would not need a diagnosis to know if you experience the symptoms. I?ll keep a prayer for you! xoxo

Hello Mystery Writer,
I commend you for writing this moving and well-crafted piece of non-fiction. Our society still knows so very little about mental illness; its stigma is rampant. My heart goes out to your grandson, you, and your family.
Thank you for sharing; you have educated many individuals...

Thank you so much! It is a relief to finally bring some expression of the issue out. Sometimes it hard to put things into words, even for a writer! :)

Wow - yeah... that is an awful thing to watch another person deal with, even after a diagnosis... Your offering is a great highlight for a problem that sneaks up on some before they realize it's serious... Good luck in the contest! ;)

This type of illness like schizophrenia onsets about this age, so you don?t get a hint until it is very evident something is wrong. It is hard to watch the sudden decline in all areas of life. Job is gone, the sparkle in their eyes is gone, so much is just not the same. :(. Thank you for reading!
