Great short story. I laughed at the end with the trucker's response. It would be interesting to see what would happen next but I understand this was a 70-word challenge. Thank you!

Thanks for your review. I can tell you what happened next, because I was the 'Tess' of the story. I didn't stop to remove any clothes. I speedily caught up with Roger farther down the road, put up with being hot, and never used the intercom again!

Great humour conveyed in this flash fiction piece. Very believable too. We are in a heat wave at the moment 40 degrees and over, enough for you to want to strip. Love the picture, it looks authentic - all that baggage, a wonder the bike can still motor. Australian humour at its best .

Yep, it's authentic - that's me in the photo, the "Tess" of the story. We were on the road for 2 years. So many funny things happened, and godawful ones too. We did 75,000 km and camped out most of the time. I did it when I was in my mid-50s, so that trucker may not have been that keen if he turned up to see me taking some clothes off as in the story!
