What a wonderful tribute to your son. I can identify so well with your every word as I grieve the death of two sons. I,too, will love them till the end of time. Your words I know resonate with all bereaved parents.

I thought it was a nicely done example of prose poetry actually, with plenty of musical elements to the language in all those repeating phrases and images of the sands of time and the melting polar ice caps and the new star. estory

What a beautiful, touching, heartfelt poem written to your only son Jay, a poem with words of love, tenderness and devotion, words that he would understand and that would comfort his soul.
"I will Love you forever Jason...
"To a Degree...
"That only God can See."
You have expressed this so beautifully; thank you for sharing it, Ricky.
God bless you. - Mary Kay

You know Mary when I first started writingm
About every hundred I would nail it.
And, I would know it.
I would even rate it 6 Stars at the top for reference purposes.
Now many, many, years later?
It's somewhere in the area of one out of every three to five.
Which continues to amaze me.
But I'm coming to realize it it's not me sometimes.
...
The next thing I'm about to tell you I've never shared but a couple people from my church.
Couple of latter-day Saint priest from The Church of Jesus Christ.
....
About 15 years ago, still deeply depressed, but now a member of that church.
And, with the Aaronic Priesthood.
Two female missionaries from France attended our church.
...
And, I remembered the funny-looking clothes the one woman wore, almost like a person who was a pilgrim.
...
Smith and Thompson right after taking in the sacrament Lance Armstrong the water in the bread something happen to me?
...
I immediately titles 22 beautiful, Religious, poems.
..
I told the two ladies that I would create them within 30 minutes and to time me.
...
As the time progressed, my hand moving faster on paper than ever before.
Beautiful Poem after poem...
(honoring Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father)
People whom I had known...
People that had passed...
This Earth's many woes...
And, many, many more...
...
It's time for Creston was getting close to the 30-minute mark I was down to just a few.
And the one missionary told me.
..
so I told her I was going to write a 5 7-5 Haiku in 10 seconds I wrote it in five!
...
when I finish it off with two slammed one minute poems honoring Jesus Christ.
...
they were reading them as I was writing them sharing them and could not believe the what was coming forward from within my soul.
...
the very last one my handwriting switch from left to right and I bear them on a pain every time I wrote the word Jesus Christ.
...
the one missionary noticed that and she said something about that and I replied...
'That last poem?'
'That was not me holding the pen.'
'It was Jesus Christ!'
...
Call it an epiphany...
Call it the Spirit of Christ....
Call it the Holy Ghost!
Or simply call it a Miracle?
Whatever you want to call it?
It happened and I was never able to come anywhere close to that!
24.
And, I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Ricky, thank you for sharing with me such marvelous and miraculous things. It is such a blessing to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ! He knows all about your loss and suffering, and He is blessing you in other ways! Keep writing, Ricky!

Thanks Mary.
Before I go to sleep at night?
I think of my son Jason.
I talked to him.
I deeply yawn.
I asked him to take me for the for the night so I could be with him.
Within less than two minutes I'm asleep.

It's good to know that thoughts of being with your son Jay give you such a peaceful feeling that you can fall asleep. That's a great blessing!

oh, such a lovely offering for the season, Ricky, and I know it is written in first person, but the final part there could be viewed from other perspectives as well... Thank you for sharing! ;)

True love?
Not a dozen red roses nor one single red rose.
but to red roses intertwined green stem thorns exposed to show those who know to not ever mess with such love it will last forever and a lifetime!
With those thoughts in mind I wrote that piece less than 5 hours ago!
Thanks,
Ricky

This is a really powerful and sensitive piece. As a parent you can feel the pain of that loss and how the love for your child is eternal without compare. It is an exquisitely executed poem.

Thoughtful and prolific. This review basically from a book that I had written.
"A Father's Grieving Heart Ache"
On the Cover...
With one, single, teardrop...
Coming from the 'e' in Heartache.
From a father...
Grieving...
Trying...
To understand...
Thanks Zoe.
