This is sweet and lovely but where's the drama? Perhaps add how she does so we can share your grief. Told in a poetic and simplistic way you have expressed well your concerns.
The forest description s work well in unison. "Limbs of elms cathedraled overhead" is particularly charming and heroic.

This is a superb entry in this "feelings" contest, the contest is full of wisdom and nous. I think that's why we like to commune with nature, because it "just is". Doesn't judge or condemn, Just offers peaceful solitude, almost communing with God Himself, which sometimes guides and advises, but with complete honesty. Beautifully written, a serene, and yet, confessional piece, great language, and super smooth, articulate, pentametric stanzas with precise ababcdcdefefgg, rhyming, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy
