Very nicely written! Reminds me of the Lord's encounter with the woman at the well, where He tells her all about her life and then she believes and shares about Him with the entire village. Best wishes in the contest!

Where do you get these stories Sally? They are so precious! You have love flowing through your veins, and compassion impregnated in your soul. Such a valuable story dear friend. "The one who sent me doesn't think you're a loser". well done Sally, blessings, Roy

God feeds me these stories, at least the good ones. I'm so glad you enjoyed my story. I DO believe that angels are all around. The Vivle says they give aid to those who will inherit salvation, protect, watch over entire principalities, nations, fight with fallen angels and deliver good tidings of great joy. We also entertain them, unaware of who they are. That lets me know they walk among us unrecognizable. Dr. McGrath is my version of such an angel. So glad you enjoyed this. I knew you would. :)

Nice story of human compassion. I believe Dr. McGrath was an angel. If we could all be a little more like him the world would be a much better place. Excellent!

Excellent ff in line with the contest requirements. I love the theme and the elements of folklore that you intertwined in your tale. There are those who will scoff at miracles and the angels who bring them to pass. But I know such things do happen. Maybe not as dramatically as in your story. But they happen all the same.

Best of luck in the contest.

Blessings Julia

Ah, Sally this is a great flash fiction story and a curious one as well. It has a beginning a middle and what a lot of them have a surprise ending. It's well written and it sets the stage and atmosphere very well. Good luck in the contest. Ulla:)))

I enjoyed your contest entry, Sally. Your storyline is well expressed and very original. Your well-chosen words and dialogue made it possible for me to see this as it unfolded. I believe stories like this to a point. But with all, one has to have faith. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Respectfully, Jan.

A fabulous piece for the flash fiction contest. It has everything one could ask for in a short work: it has a clearly defined plot and characters and tells a complete story in a limited amount of words. Well done!

So you enjoyed this contest entry? Wonderful. It's a little different but I had inspiration for it. I believe an angel saved from a deadly dog attack when I was a child. I had just screamed for God's help when a man showed up out of nowhere, beating the dog off of me and taking me to get help. The story is way back in my portfolio called, 'The Scent of Fear.' My family says it's one of my best. It was in a national contest but didn't win. I rewrote it and posted it here when I first joined FS in 2018. Read it sometime when you're bored.
I am always so honored by your kimd reviews and generous stars. It's like you save them just for me. Thank you, dear.
On another note, I have put the quote from you on the outside cover of What The Blind Girl Saw. Would you like me to reference you as F.M. Wright, fm wright or Faye Wright? Let me know as soon as you can as I am near publishing. A Willow Bends has done me the honor of the Foreword and Walkerman has helped me get it ready for the all critiquing eyes. My FanStory friends and fans have been so wonderful to help me and that includes you. I want to make sure you name is correct the way you would like it. :))
Sending you my best today as always,
    Sally xoxo

You can use Faye Wright. I will read "The scent of fear as soon as I can. It sounds very interesting.

Rory certainly met his guardian angel that day. The wonderful doctor could see what he needed and provided for it. I wonder what Rory thought of that through the years. Great story. Good luck in the contest.
