You have beautifully captured the essence of what makes a poet. From the depths of his heart and soul, he draws from his experiences and imagination thoughts and feelings that flow onto paper. And then shares them with a lonely, suffering world.

800 it is and this is your title was well-written Richard seaman elementary note there may be some grammar issues in running sentences as the reviews being done verbally in a cell phone it read well flowed well and had no grammar issues I ejected an object in Contents were both excellent and exceptional while descriptive measures lined up perfectly thanks for this and have a great day dr. This is a wonderful poem describing life as a poet. I am not super familiar with free verse poetry. To me, this is too good to be free verse. Reading Ginsberg in grad school to me was worse than reading a shampoo bottle. Just a bunch of nonsense rambling together and called poetry. Your words are not nonsense, and you have done a tremendous job. There is a story and emotion behind your poem. I enjoyed this very much. Fantastic job!

Thank you so much! I love free verse as it allows one to flow in a poetic way but not have to worry about finding just the right word to rhyme. You precious compliment is sincerely appreciated.

I think you have just about covered what we are and how we work. It is a delightfully written even though it is serious too. I like the repetitive use of "A Poet is ..." and then the description of what we attempt to accomplish every single time we put pen to paper. Well done indeed! Good luck.
