Ha ha ha, this made me smile and it sounds like these dogs need a good bath! Socialising on the beach telling their stories, you brought the essence of doggy days here, much enjoyed, with the reality in the car going home with the horrible smell! Ha ha ha, love Dolly x

This is a fun entry for the contest, poking fun at the well-known aftermath of taking dogs to play at the beach, or a creek. There's nothing like the smell of wet dog. Good luck in the contest.

I love this great beginning. grinning faces all around. The last stanza provides a very satisfactory end. That wet dog smell is a very effective olfactory image

Yeah, I was about to say 'perfumed' might not be the best word here... :) LOL! A fun offering for the contest...especially for the dog lovers out there! ;) Best of luck at the polls! ;)

This is so graphic I can smell the dogs in the car. The word usage is great--"perfumed mem'ries." I love the line about their tales telling their stories. (The St. Bernard is gorgeous.)

Yes, it's best to leave the windows open wide.

I think this is a good entry for the Sedoka writing prompt.
This short verse tells of dogs having fun on the beach, but putting up with the wet dog smell on the way home.
Well done and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is a great picture to illustrate your poem. It does seem like a
beginning of a planned meeting. I like the use of smell to remember
your day.
Good luck and keep writing
