A clever contest entry. I just call it the pound sign. Maybe I'll show off and
start using the correct word. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest. Perfect artwork.

I really enjoyed reading this! In this day and age of technology, words have really undergone some radical changes. How clever of you to use a 'sign' as opposed to a word. Hugs, Lou

It seems that any combination of single digit numerals can be used to create a poetic form these days. The reaction here to this 7-9-7 however is interesting as I have always treated it as meaning 'the number'. As one who once learned Latin to GCE O Level (which means, you Americans, not bad but not brilliant) O like the idea of octothorpe but I think I have probably learned to call it a hash, which is what it looks like. The addition of 'tag' means nothing to me as only twits tweet.

This work has reached the exceptional level

fascinating information and you should win, hands down.
Also, you have answered a question I've never asked : what in heck does hash tag mean? (am not a twitterer)
This is a great entry.
Good luck.

How very interesting this background information for this widely recognised symbol- in our modern world we often erroneously think that we and we alone have created all these gizmos and gadgets and symbols- we truly stand on the shoulders of giants!!

This is a fun contest. I'm learning quite a lot and in some cases more than I thought! Great word, lovely example and thought provoking all round. Good luck. xoxo Kiwi

I figured this contest would be a fun one and enlightening too. You found a great obscure word and brought it into modern day. Love the colorful illustration as well. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

A very well-written 7-9-7 obscure word for # now known as the hashtag but originates an octothorpe. Very interesting author notes to explain the origin.

I think this is very well done, not sure ( I know I had no idea) if many people would know the origin of hashtag, to me this is an excellent poem for this prompt, very clever and best wishes for your contest****kahpot
