I couldn't find the wolf in the picture , but I am on my phone, and the picture is small. I love the playfulness of this! Poems don't always have to be serious and deep. Fun is necessary too! Matching the font color with the picture is perfect. I love this unique poem!

Shhhhhhh.... there's really nothing there.... :) :) We had a choose a pic from FanArt and, as my eyes scanned through the treasure trove of offerings over there (soooooo many to see!!), this one just jumped out and I immediately found myself 'looking' for things in it? and a poem was born!! ;) :) Thanx for your review, Tina - much appreciated! :) Yvette

That is such a fun poem to read, especially to me since I love the Little Red Riding Hood. All in all, I think the image, the poem, everything works perfectly and is really fun to read.

Haha, that's good to hear because I wasn't sure if it was me or there truly wasn't anything to see. :) That's so cool. You're welcome.

This is an imaginative work, showing a good sense of rhythm and stimulating a reader's curiosity. I tried to follow the directions while looking at the art, but I got lost, not being sure if I was looking for a wolf (as the original Red Riding Hood story had it), or a fox with a long tail, or just some gnarled branches and roots that might appear to have the shape of a human or animal. The point of view is that of an invisible narrator, who could be a character from the story, but his or her motive is not clear. He or she wants to be seen by "Red" and we can see his/her frustration building (well done). But why? The last line makes the allusion to "Little Red Riding Hood" very clear, but it is hard to envision the hood blocking the eyesight of "Red." Up to that point the inability to see the narrator seemed to be Red's lack of perception or ability to follow directions.
The poem has a pleasing rhythm and uses true rhymes consistently, which I admire. I would like it even better, I think, if we readers were clearly led to see the "me" curved and brown, after being sent up and down. This shows talent. Keep writing!

'Little Red Riding Hood" very clear,

A great poem for the art contest! oh my, no wonder Red didn't see the wolf when she was walking to grandmother;s house. Thanks for the chuckles. Good luck with the contest,

Cleverly written dear Yvette, your propensity for fairytale, at least your own characters, but your are now using.the "real life" little Red Riding coated in some marvellous quatrained poetry, written trimetric abcb rhymed quatrains, well done, blessings, Roy

Clever and witty rhymes, with humor at the end. This definitely qualifies as an ekphrastic poem based on David Ruhl's art. I like the details and trying to find the wolf. Fun post, good luck in the contest.

Amazing! Finally the story of red riding hood from the perspective of the wolf a d you managed to tell it between a poem as well! Bravo for the effort! Loved the idea of the wolf stalking and taunting red riding hood like that. Amazing read. Best wishes for the contest! Cheers

This is very clever and brings to mind trying to point out a bird or whatever in a conglomeration of trees. Good luck in the contest. I feel sure this will do well.
