Wow, such an uplifting entry for this contest. I could believe hope has a lovely perfume! And I'd much rather think of New Years ambitions than New Years resolutions. Your students must have been continue Sally inspired ;) Sadly, no sixes left.

Your have made effective use of all of your syllables in this enthusiastic,
lovely poem. You have a pleasing blend of literal and figurative language and have created awesome imagery.

Hope springs eternal and it does bloom faster with a good splash of positive thoughts! Words of wisdom to begin the new year. Nice artwork as well. I enjoyed this piece.

Hello Yvette. You should do well in the contest with this 20 syllable poem. There is a good progression in the first three lines to the conclusion in the fourth. Good luck in the contest. Z

Hey, Z -- good to see Ralphie's face again... I'm playing catch up (or at least trying to) this afternoon! ;) These 'shorties' are always a challenge, but I enjoy a good language/math mixture..... I get to be creative and have to count!! LOL! Thanx for stopping by! :) Yvette

Hey Yvette. Ralph is starting to get lazy, demanding and even snotty at times. He's becoming a liberal. They better snap out of it. Z (*_*)

Okay... it's been a long time since I actually snorted and laughed out loud at my computer screen, but I just did!! Awww, damn, Z, I so needed that ... thank you! And Ralph's not getting more liberal, he's just getting older faster than you and he wants to be sure to get all of his 'social security' before it runs out.... lol! Oh, wait, maybe that does make him more liberal... yikes!! ;) :)

I'm hoping for some nice big blossoms in the New Year. With a little luck some good things will happen. Even if it would just warm up a bit that would be nice. Good luck in the contest.

Beautiful poem, Yvette. I like your 6/4/6/4 lines - it made the meter flow than my 5-syllable lines. And the artistic personification of January "splashing perfuming" waiting for those "ambitions to bloom." I'm smelling a winner here!

"Fresh Aspirations."
Is a "20 Syllable New year's Contest Entry."
Rich in Theme and Imagery.
It read well and Flowed well with no Grammar Issues.
...
Adjective and Objective Contents were both Excellent and Exceptional while Descriptive Measures aligned Perfectly.
Good luck with this and have a good night.
