It is sad, that this sometimes happens and then breaks a relationship. If you can stop and think before you talk, the outcome can be changed. It is good advice.
Congrats on placing third in the contest, June
Keep writing and stay healthy.

This is a really great poem, and it's also good advice. I can see why this one would place in the contest. Congrats on that as well. I really liked this.

THANK YOU!

One of my many follies in life has been leading with my tongue, I'm much better now, but occasionally I surrender to temptation... One needs to take a breath, be slow to speak, and quick to listen. Well done with these sage words and with gratitude, thank you June. Good luck, blessings, Roy

Oh my goodness, yes!! ;) You are on a roll with this 'short gems', June! What a wonderful posting for a high school hallway or employee break room -- many less problems may occur if people could do this! ;) Thanx so much for your awesome offering and best of luck ! ;) Yvette

You have made excellent use of all of your syllables in this thought-provoking piece that gives good advice. Yes, a normal conversation can quickly turn into an argument no one will win!

How true is this statement which is often forgot - just to step back and take a breath when conversation reach a point of disagreement. I love the statement, Let's just agree to disagree! We are all unique individuals and we have our own views, so what's right to one may not be same for all! :) xoxo

Ha ha ha, this made me smile and sometimes we hear aggressive conversation that turns into a shouting match! If only everyone would take a deep big breath in, I liked your suggestion here June, love Dolly x

Thanks, Dolly. Very hard to write these shorter ones. Think it?s time to write another Awdl Sonnet...

A classic, June Sargeant 5-7-5 poetic winner! Perfect in each and every aspect of the submission. Perfect graphic with a perfect acknowledgment that words do matter and a pause can be a wise action.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the parrots having a conversation that becomes a confrontation, have to stop and take a breath before they continue the conversation.
