"2020 Vision", is an extremely well-written and spiritually-uplifting piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I very much look forward to seeing your next post.

Many people do see great results- maybe- from reassessing their lives once a year.
But 'forgiving daily' would make a much better life!
Best of luck in the 20 syllable contest.

Great 20 Syllable New Year poem. It's a poem with great advice, which we should all live by. Nice image and quote also. I think this is a good entry for the contest.

You're so right, saying, "I'm sorry," doesn't cost a thing. The first thing that came to mind when I read your poem was the song from Godspell... Day by Day. Do you remember that song? I know you're right, you have to at least try to be able to forgive in order to move forward. I know for some, who have been through terrible things, this isn't always easy. You also sometimes have to forgive yourself. Just like you have to love yourself before you can really love someone else. Nice poem :)

Hi Susan, I heard that song in my mind as I wrote it, you are the 2nd person that picked up on that. How cool is that? Thank you for your thoughtful review. Have you ever watched Joyce Meyers, she was abused as a child and had to forgive her father to move on and with God's help she did. Hers is an amazing story.

I think this is a good entry for the 20 Syllable New Year Poem contest.
This short verse tells of seeing clearly and holding dear ones.
Well done and I wish you luck with the contest.

This twenty-syllable poem, 2020 Vision, has the correct syllable count and urges the readers to seek out those who have done us wrong and forgive them. We can't expect it if we can't extend it.

Great job with your rhyming five-syllable lines! I especially liked the call to forgive and to hold others as precious as a way to live daily, not just at certain times of the year. Best wishes in the contest!

Oh, I love it, Laura! In the air of Godspell's Day-by-Day, the lines just work so beautifully together! ;) Great monorhyme offering for the contest, my lady, with the final line being the perfect parting thought!! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;) Yvette

You established a good mantra for the New Year! I applaud your attitude and your rhymes!
"Forgive sincerely" (my best of your 4 lines!) should be the active byword for certain of our country's leaders IMHO.
Best wishes in this contest.
