Congratulations on your win. Your poem says it all. The fires have been a nightmare for all those involved. So many tragic stories of loss and heartache.

Hi Diane, Thanks you for your review and Congrats for my poem. Weare all so grateful for all the help given from many around the world. The firefighters do a terrific job and are so appreciated. Today as I look out of my windows there is a haze of smoke surrounding my town. Not sure from where but thankfully the weather has cooled down some and i hope no more fires break out. Your prayers are welcomed Cheers Chris

That is hopeful news, but also praying then for rain to calm down the smoky contaminates as they can be just as harmful to all the life there. xoxo

These are very well written and very true 5-7-5's you penned for the writing prompt. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery you used. I hope you do get rain and things get better for this beautiful place. love and blessings, Teri

Hi Teri7 Thanks for your review. Some fires are still burning but the weather has at least cooled on many places. it has been a terrible few days/ weeks for many with evacuations everywhere in affected areas. A little rain has fallen so hopefully this will help. Cheers

This is so sad and unfortunate. I knew nothing about this on my side of the world. I pray for comfort and peace for the families that lost lives. I also pray that those that lost livestock and goods would be restored what they lost. Thanks for sharing this informative and well written work. Bless you and well done!

Thank you Jeffrey. This has been declared a national disaster and some fires are still going. Australia is such a fire prone country and we have had many extreme days with hot winds that have fueled the fires. Many towns have been evacuated and many have lost homes. Quite a few deaths also including several fire fighters. Plus we see wildlife burnt and animals suffering. I tried to do a tribute piece and pleased you thought it well written. Much appreciation Cheers

I have been watching the fires on TV. My heart goes out to all of Australia.
Your poem says it all. There is nothing to do but unite. Let's hope it will
rain soon.

Hi Barbara, Thanks you and yes we will unite and assist in many ways I will donate money to the causes. That is all many can do but if we all pitch in it will help those who have lost everything. This has been the worst fires in history as far as how many and where they have burnt. We are very prone to fires and unfortunately is only the start of our Summer. We have had a little rain yesterday so finger crossed. Cheers

This is an extremely sad and tragic situation. We are all suffering with you as we watch helplessly. What happens on one side of the globe will ultimately affect the rest of it. Only a fool would not be worried. Our prayers are with you.

I think this is a good 5-7-5 Old Year Ooops! writing prompt entry.
It's also a good tribute to the brave firemen and women. It's hard to watch a country burn up, but it makes the heart feel good to see people come together to help.
I wish you luck with the contest.
Sharon
