Helen Lyenochka had been asking me for posts about Jorge, after I wrote the poem about the Super Bowl, and when she read this, she went ahead and promoted it for me! I was going to wait until December to revive it, but then I decided to go all out and add some pumps. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Jorge had so much patience, and waited for me for so long! This is a beautiful love story. I see you originally posted it some time ago. I guess you so promoted it again an so that is probably why I didn't receive a notice but I so glad I got to read it. My love for my husband grew slowly to but not quite as slowly as yours did. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

This is what happened: Helen read my poem about watching the Super Bowl with Jorge, and she asked me whether I had mentioned him elsewhere in my writing. I told her about this story, but that it's not eligible to be revived until December -- and you were right, by the way, it has to be two years. Reviving a post isn't a freebie, but your fans do get notified. Anyway, Helen (Iyenochka) was so touched by our story that she promoted it with, I think, the Treasure Chest... then I figured, why not go all out, and then I added some pumps.
So when I first wrote this in December 2019, I was very new to FanStory and only got ten reviews, but now I have about 30, so I'm very happy about that. Helen felt that it's the kind of marriage people need to read about, which was really so kind of her. It also improves the status of the story, but it makes me happy to have lots of readers. I'm glad you found it :-)

This contest was for 2019, and I didn't win, but I was very new to FanStory. I only had ten reviews, but now that a sweet friend so kindly decided to promote our story (and I added some pumps), I have three times as many reviews, and the story has Recognized status. So I'm thrilled that more people are reading it, which is what my friend had in mind, when she promoted it.

Love has a funny way of catching us no matter how far or fast we run, doesn't it? You know that old saying: "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans?" -- That came to mind. It seems no matter how many times you thought this was not your "marryin' man"--God kept you on the journey and guided your path--blessing you both in the process! This is a real life story told in a real life way--truth is, it's never "Mr. Perfect"-it's just "Mr. Perfect for YOU"--and often we don't see the forest for the trees for a good long time! Everything you said really resonates with me, and shows how well you understand my story. I did stop, at least a few times along the way, and pray, God, could he be the one? And I'm glad I asked! Because when the answer came, it was quite clear. Yes, he said it was very good timing that I was there for him, after his heart attack and surgery; of course, I would have been there for him as a friend, but it would not have been the same. And yes, "At Last" was truly our song. I think we bought tracks from three different artists who sang it, but she, Etta James, did it the best. Her bluesy rendition was hypnotizing.
