Moms aren't being rude they want to hustle you along because it is raining and she wants to get you indoors as quickly and safely as soon as possible.

Usually a mom walks with their children if they are school age and holds their hand. At least that's what I'd do for my small grandchildren. I always like to walk at a slow pace so I can enjoy the pleasure of my child's company.
