This rondeau, For Just One Day, has the proper formatting and brings the wishes of adventurous minds to imagine the heights of play with the guarantee that our safe and normal life was still the safe harbor.

Thank you, Bill. I'm not sure I could take the excitement of more than one day. lol

If only friend, if only we all got such a day, a day where we got to do anything we desired... it would be interesting what each person chooses to do. I'm sure flying would be high on many a list : ))

I think so, too. However, sailing with pirates would be interesting. I can certainly do the last stanza of resting and listening to the birds. Thank you for this great review.

A very well-written Rondeau and a wish to be able to fly is a dream of many. To see the earth from above and to be free like a bird is a wonderful idea even if it can be only for one day.

Wouldn't it be wonderful! If my wish ever comes true, I'll fly by and pick you up, too. Thanks, Sandra.

Your skillfully-written, appealing rondeau is vividly descriptive, a charming mix of whimsy and down-to-earth benevolent ideals and lovely nature scenes. "Time'd" sounds a bit awkward .

Thank you for a lovely review. Sorry about 'time'd' but it was the only way I could make things fit. lol

This has a definite feeling of 'what if.' I like the pirate stanza especially, but the 'golden sky' in the first stanza was appealing, too. Giving things away is an admirable daydream. The last stanza makes this reader think that maybe the speaker's sense of hearing has also been affected, and he/she would like that back, too, before death. Thanks for posting.

No, no deafness. Just a wish to settle down after the adventure in a peaceful place. Thank you so much.

What an excellently written Rondeau, Yvonne. The meaningful repeat is perfect for this and adds a depth and resonance. I enjoyed reading it!!

Your poem certainly sings and obviously meets all the criteria. The wishes are sound and echo a longing that seems to have been there for
sometime.

For Just One Day, a wistful yet hopeful wish to do more than one can do in a lifetime. I feel the flight of the eagle, the excitement of a pirate's eye treasure that offers a last life chance to 'do good to others', the gentle cry of the whippoorwill as life winds to a close.
It's full of imagery of beauty and love for life as well as the hope that at the end of it, that it was a life well lived.
Love it.

Hello Damommy, this is a very well written, and very poetic Rondeau. Lovely subject with good rhyme and rhythm. The repetition of '. . . for just one day.' is calming and very effective. Very nice display and a good read. Warm regards Dorothy x
