This is a very poignant, thought provoking poem.
Lots of people artfully wear masks to concile their true feelings
they want people to think they are happy so they smile, they might even be the heart of conversation yet deep down their hearts are sinking , crying , bleeding.
We live in such a society that wants to appear cool, hip and sexy but in reality its an ocean of unhappy , insecure,unsatisfied people who put on daily a mask to fool .
I think this is an excellent entry because it speaks about a big truth many live today .
There are also heaps of people that believe they truly are happy and don't even contemplate there might be something wrong.,
they live materialistic lives, they think having a big house , a big car, chic clothes is what counts in life.. they have superficial friendships and relationships ..
don't know what's worse :
wearing a smile pretending all is okay or actually living a materialistic ,superficially , empty life and being convinced that objects are the ultimate means to be happy in life.
...that success and money are the key to happiness ..
They don't even realise what a meaningless life they are living , like these Kardashians ..
Never seen an episode of their show but recently I saw an ad for their reality on Netflix when I was dogsitting Moby ..
It was about 30 seconds at the most and it made me cringe.
How anyone can find interesting and be envies
of these empty, fake people is beyond me.

All that glitters is not gold. Some laugh on the outside (wearing a mask) while crying on the inside.

Could be true, but an example, even just hinted at, might make this truth resonate more fully. "I laughed heartedly when you said goodbye at the station...although in laughter...the..."
