Your tanka is very well-written and thought-provoking, pinpointing how each person tends to see things through his/her own "lens." What life has held molds us and affects what we perceive.

A very well-written Tanka about the camera that captures every detail of a scene in one moment while we only see some detail. When we examine the photograph we discover the things we missed.

Every time I see your name in my message box, I know I'm going to read something good. This is no exception. This is an excellent contest entry and should do well.

Thank you very much for your kind and supportive feedback. I am pleased you enjoyed this and grateful for your time. I am truly humbled, Bowl, as I feel the same way about you :). It's nice to be able to inspire, admire, and respect each other in a world of dog eat dog competitors.

Good luck in the contest. It is amazing how you are able to put into limited words both truth and reality. What you describe is the reality of life, one sees what they chose to and unfortunately they frequently blame other things for their misinterpretation.

I think this is a good entry for the Tanka Poetry contest.
Your short verse tells of the world as it would appear through unobstructed vision.
Well done and good luck to you with the contest.

I like this poem that expresses how we are all influenced by distorted perceptions due to our past experiences. That is very well written with well chosen words. Bill

Great tanka which contrasts the camera's eye with the human eye. Humans are capable of having "cluttered perception" and of deep disillusionment! Best wishes in the contest!

This is a very powerful Tanka poetry contest entry. I love the imagery you chose. "Camera sees the world with unobstructed vision" is skilfully said.
Yes, the eyes can be fogged cluttering perception's lens resulting in disillusionment.
Great job!

I've written a poem or two about the eye seeing what it wants to see. The lens we look through can indeed be cluttered by our own perceptions, God cleared a whole heap of rubbish blocking my vision. An excellent tanka Monica, don't see many of these, blessings, Roy

Passing you my bottle of 'Spirit Glow' meant to be used with 'Prayer Wipes' to clear the 'sin-dex' from our view :).

Yes, I see the distinction. The picture is so much attuned to the words. What a wise perception. So the words and the picture present a good scenario.
