This is true of the lens of the eye as well as the camera. Sometimes the camera sees clearer. If you are troubled about something, that can cloud
your view. This tanka is a good metaphor for troubles such as these.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.
Keep writing

Your tanka is a fascinating description of perception versus reality and the impact of "disillusionment". Congratulations on having the poem well received in the contest. Cheers- Joan

I am not familiar with the tanka format so I cannot comment on that aspect. The poem has many interesting phrases. It is marked by a continuity of thought in the metaphors.

This is an awesome contest offering, Angel -- so much truth in those lines that is the root of so much angst as many people refuse to acknowledge it!! ;) :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

This must be for a contest Mystic? Ah yeah, I see it is I don't know how to review poetry just how to score the ones I like. And you write plenty of those. I hope you do well in the contest, sincerely Anne.

Thanks so much for the kind and encouraging support, Anne. Your feedback is both valued and appreciated. Yes, it is contest fodder which seems to take up the majority of space around here LOL.

Hi Monica. The image is interesting and the tanka reflects the connundrum of the viewer. One may interpret the view as an illusion or disillusion depending on the perspective of the observer. Marilyn

This work has reached the exceptional level

Five unusual thematic al lines of a perfectly written tanka, beautifully set within the poetry contest with a specific foculized narrative storyline which zooms the desired photographical spot but the lens are hindered by the fog so the photographer can't take any photos at all even if the camera can. Great work. Blessings. Tony

Your Tanka tells of very truthful things in a very poetic way. Yes, so often what happened to a person can tint the images that he or she will perceive for the rest of a lifetime..

This tanka, Camera Sees World, looks good and compares the glassy, unaffected camera to the emotion laden eye, so full of expectation, prejudice, and fatigue.

This tanka reminds the reader that what the camera lens records and what the human eye sees are two different things. Sometimes even moods like being 'fogged by disillusionment' causes one to think they see a different image. Interesting share.
