I am really enjoying reading these bird poems. Most of the entries are good, but yours is the loveliest. You present it so well with the lavender and the artwork. I was at peace before I read the first word.
I like that you chose to focus on the loyalty and grace of the swan. Those are the traits that set the swan apart in my mind. You should do well in the voting.

Lovely poem and lovely picture. That they mate for life is a great note on which to dwell. and so we should follow their examples, except for the swimming in cold water.

I think that I've heard that swans are soulmates for life. I think that we humans could learn something from these beautiful birds. Some of us change mates like changing shoes or sox. I like the message of this and enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done and good luck in the contest.
