I think this is a good entry for the Christmas Poetry contest.
Your verse shows us a very different story of Christmas.
Well done and good luck with the contest.

This is a good entry for the Christmas poetry contest. This is very original, because you are depicting a culture that many people do not know much about. Very well written. Great job and thank you for sharing.

I never see the Christmas through the eyes of the desert people, that has such a special way of conveying the story of the birth of Christ :"Outback desert people stared in wonder
As didgeridoo told of his star burning bright
A corroboree began as people heard thunder
Bahaime was speaking to all that night"

Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Hi Kace. This is a wonderful poem which describes the celebration of Christmas in your country through the view of the native peoples. I like to see the image and hear about the customs. Best of luck in the contest with this fine entry. Marilyn

To me, this really speaks to the meaning of Christmas. It would be spiritually wonderful to sit outside on Christmas Eve, watching the stars, imagining what the shepherds and wise men saw. How better to relate to Jesus' birth. I also love the multicultural aspect of this poem. That is such a loving thing to do.
This was truly interesting. I'm glad that I read it.

What an original (or should we say 'aboriginal' - lol!) take on the Christmas story, Aussie -- love the atmosphere that you've created for us!! :) To think that there were celebrations in the Outback that night - awesome!! ;) :) And that didgeridoo is SO unique in all the world... just the pic there gives this poem an almost other-worldly feel...thank you for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;)

What an absolutely beautiful celebration. Oh, the wonder, sitting under the far-flung stars closer to the stars the wise men traveled than ours here in America (I would assume). Thank you for sharing it with me.

G'day Darlene, I thought you may like a bit of our culture interspersed with the Bible approach. Great Spirit is everywhere. Thanks for reading my friend. Blessings, K.

He's not an American God, but we tend to forget it.
