I apologize for no six my dear poet. You not the mail right on the head. I wrote a so ilar article, Will We Belive Tje Lke Of Skcialism? That's exactly what it is, a big fat lie. Somebody has to pay for all the free stuff. I am very benevolent bit I want to be the one who decides where my money goes. I don't want to give it socialist causes. I have close friend here from Venezuela. They love it here and they love our president. The media doesn't want us to look at the socialist county county because they are stuffing this crap down our throats. Brava, my dear, Brava. So glad you won the contest. Sorry I missed the vote. I've had shingles.
Sending you my best today as always,

Oh, my word, sally, I understand it is very painful. I'm so sorry.
Thank you for your great comments. I stay so angry at the Dems and Shifty Shiff , I'd like to stangle his scrawny neck - then his eyes would truly bug out! I just don't understand how they can get away with what they're doing . It's the Communist way of doing things, that's for sure.

Sally. you are a real spirit booster. Thank you, thank you!! Wish I could remember what I said. :)
I have been off line for a few days with computer problems. Had no protection and had to tun it off until brainy daughter came in today from Austin, to help me. Technology is a mystery to me, but she got me up and going.
Thank you, dear friend, for being you and for your much appreciated comment!

    PS
for Heaven's sake, I can't believe I forgot to ask about the shingles attack. How are you? I understand it's quite painful. Has it gotten any better? What do you treat it with?
    Hope it goes away soon.
    Best wishes, Katharine

Thank you, sweet peach. I've had them multiple times, so many Ive lost count. They are less severe this year but still plague me. I use Burbur, a holistic drop with anti viral properties and oil of oregano, mixed in water. Manuka honey cream on the shingles help relieve itching. Xo

The ideology of socialism is not a new concept. It has long ago been planted in the hearts of the young, the weak and the poor. It appeals to those who believe there is such a thing as a free lunch.

I really like this and the message conveyed in it. I think that the constitution writers and forefathers would be shocked at what's going on. Government control is the beginning of the end as you've so eloquently stated. I love what you've expressed here and it should be shouted from the rooftops. Great job and well done!

Well, Jeffrey, bless your heart!! And thank you! I have gotten a few nice reviews - maybe 3 or 4, but the rest have really let me have it and have said some terrible things. You have made me feel much better with your kind words!
I don't think I have any more recommendations for good reviews, but if I do, I'll certainly nominate you.
    Thanks again.

Amen to all of that my brother in Truth. Thanks for blasting that out with both barrels. It must have been therapeutic in a sense. God bless you and God Bless America!

well, I'm a sister, but bless you for liking it!!! AND for the 6 stars!!!
It was therapeutic, but I received some really ugly responses which finally went too far and I blasted back, I'm afraid.

Excellent writing that cuts through the lies, hypocrisy and dangers of socialism. I believe there's no way it can work because it goes against God given principles.

Hello mystery writer. You're a very courageous person and I applaud you. I have written here before about socialism and I concur with your conclusions. Socialism is not for socialists; it's for the masses. Ignorance is socialism's greatest ally.

    Robert, thank you.
you are a welcome relief. All I have gotten today are people more or less telling me off. I'm afraid I finally lost it with one (maybe two) - and came back pretty strong, but honestly, it was a cry for our country. You might think Americans might also be defensive and tired of people trying to ruin it.
Tonight Mark Levin was here and I went to hear him. He was great.
The whole audience cheered for every patriotic thing and it was the first time I'd been in a place that large FULL of conservatives. What a good feeling. Of course, there was loud picketing outside, afterwards.

I posted a fable called "Quotidian" a while back. It is about exactly what you posted. Lenin was quoted as saying, "The objective of socialism is communism." What you posted was right.

Your essay does make the reader sit up and ponder what the benefits of Socialism are and why Americans would want to give up Capitalism, what this country is based on. But you go too far in your last two paragraphs, Leave Trump out of your debate.

ROD, This is not a debate. I am sick and tired of people bad-mouthing our President and { will say what I believe. No matter what bs the Left wants to make people believe, he is a patriot - a word I would not apply to a single D running for Pres. who are all socialists.
Trump takes no salary, has no quid quo pro with anybody, and still tries his best to do what's best for America despite a yr and a half of constant lies being put out by the media, and being thwarted at every turn. I am proud of his savvy, his courage and his strength.
and I will not be told what to leave out. I have had it with these young know-nothings who want to ruin this country and with the people who don't speak up and defend the American ideals and way of life and defend their President. I'm tired of trying to be polite when people who disagree with me either tell me to shut up, call me names, like some have today, or tell me to leave something out because they don't like it. I know I'm being rude, and I don't like being this way, but I'm not sitting quietly by any more.

I will try to hold my tongue. You express yourself clearly, but the capital letters are unnecessary. I wouldn't have minded this essay in the contest of "what I believe" but to pose Republicans as good vs. the evil Democrats goes to an unnecessary extreme. I can see faults in Democrats. Can you see faults in Trump and the Republican party? Neither is perfect. God bless America, whatever our creed!
P.S. The 4 stars are for the capitalized letters, not for the content.

I am referring to the people espousing socialism for this country. I don't believe it's the Republicans.
reply by Darlene Franklin on 27-Oct-2019
I knew that. I still don't know if I would frame it as good vs. evil, with capital letters. We can agree to disagree.
reply by the author on 27-Oct-2019
we certainly can, but I do consider socialism evil. Look at the countries it's ruined.

well sounds like you have a lot of
ideas about politics. But socialism has some good points
I think all health care should be governed by the government.
I don't think people should have the right to profit from others
suffering. I think these health insurance companies are all crooked and
they are making it impossible for small businesses to stay in business.
Socialized medicine I would argue for.

well that is not what this country stands for. If you want socialized medicine - they have it in Canada. or if you prefer socialism's good points, why not visit a socialist country and see if you still agree.
Please tell me why you think health care should be controlled by government. Freedom, including freedom of choice of medical programs is our right - our privilege as Americans. You're right about the drug companies, they are out of control, but they are not the healthcare people.

Socialism is a matter of degrees. Perhaps you've heard of Social Security--instituted by Franklin Roosevelt. Perhaps you've heard of public education? These are forms of socialism, and they're good for the country.

Countries like Denmark and Sweden have modified socialist governments--and have two of the happiest, healthiest, best educated populations on the planet. Meanwhile, the US have the highest infant mortality rate of all industrialized countries.

Do I want universal healthcare? You bet. Do I want free public education expanded to include public college? I do.

You make no mention of the ever-growing income gap. Why is that?

Socially yours, Lee

as I have said before, this country was not founded on socialism - government control - that is what the colonists were escaping. Free education and free medical care has to be paid for and it will be in your taxes - wait an see, if your folks win.
reply by humpwhistle on 27-Oct-2019
So, you would abolish free education for K-12?

We're a rich country. But too much of our wealth is unproductive. If you don't believe me, talk to successful capitalists like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates.

Why is it you talk about job growth, yet ignore the ever-growing wealth disparity? The opportunity to earn minimum wage is not the American dream. Canada treats its citizens much more fairly than the capitalists treat us.

reply by the author on 27-Oct-2019
I ask you again, who is going to pay for free college education and free health care?
And who are you blaming for the wealth disparity?
You got a tax cut this year, you think you'll get one if Warren is Pres?
reply by humpwhistle on 27-Oct-2019
Don't you think that tuition and health care are taxes?

As for my tax cut, General Motors benefited much more--and is still shutting down factories. Besides, it added tens of trillions of dollars to our national debt. Some tax cut.
reply by the author on 27-Oct-2019
no. They are payment for "goods" received like anything else.

If you are so unhappy with this country, nobody is making you stay.
