This beau of yours looks like he is shear terror!! LOL. This is another stellar job in your verses for the Boyfriend Series. I always look forward to reading them.

He was warm to snuggle up to, but he was a baaa-d boy at heart.

I believe LisaMay have counted correctly using pun and fun with colorful
wordplay. It appears this mutton is right on the button. Clearly entertaining in such brevity, great job overall.

Well done on another one - sides this ones looks way too ugly with all that hair - needs to visit the beauty salon and get a clip. You might have "sheared" him before you left.
Good job.

I knitted a few sweaters and socks and gloves and hats and a cosy for my boiled egg before he left.
    Thanks for your shiny review!

Thanks so much for that top review. I thought readers might not like all the idioms in it.

Dad bred stud Merinos for many years and sheep work was always on the cards. You come up with such great puns. I hope you're not tired of writing these yet as I'm not tired of reading them.

I married into a sheep farming family here in NZ - they bred Perendales on the river flats. Merinos here are in the drier hill country inland.
I've got a target of 50 of these stories then I'll wrap it up and start something else (as well as concentrating on putting it into book shape). I know who I am going to end up with - I've written the last story already. It may not be much of a surprise when people see what the last critter is.
reply by JudyE on 27-Oct-2019
I hadn't heard of Perendales. I googled them. Pretty sheep and showing their cheviot side pretty much.
reply by JudyE on 27-Oct-2019
Just did some more research and they don't look so much like cheviots. Googling sometimes brings up a heap of stuff related to, but not exactly, what you asked for.
reply by the author on 27-Oct-2019
Perendales seemed to be nice natured sheep too.
I know what you mean about getting wrong info. Writing these stories and getting a photo of the creature often shows the wrong one, such as an Australian crocodile when I wanted an Everglades alligator. No wonder there are so many cries of Fake News all the time.

You sure are having a time finding an actual decent guy! Have you ever thought about a dating site to weed out all of these weirdoes! You could weed some of them out before they get the chance to treat you badly!

It is all good experience in finding what I really want in a partner. As long as they don't break any ribs, or clean out the bank account too much, then I am still ahead. Of course, the worst crime is leaving the toilet seat up. The damn elephant even broke it.

I am woolly pleased to give this animal composition of yours a six star rating. You had me at sheepish and Baa-hamas, where it sounds like you almost spent a fabulous vacation on the sea-shorn. Of course, if it really was that brief, it must have stayed out of the baa'd tabloids, since very few seem to have 'herd' of it. Amazing author notes below. But then, I have been partial to sheep since my grandpa was a sheep rancher.

I look forward to your reviews Crystie - you are better than me at puns. I'm pleased you are a regular reviewer of my work - you are so generous with your stars! Thank you so much.

Love it! That sheep really has a ton of wool on it... wow! Merino wool is the best, and that comes from down under, eh? I didn't know that. It would be nice to get a pair of these sheep and use their wool to make sweaters, hats, mittens, and the like. A former member of FS raised sheep in NZ, but she quit because it was too much work, and the weather could get really cold in winter.

While I was getting information about sheep I read a story about one in Australia that didn't get shorn for several years and when they caught it and sheared it they got 41 kg (90 lbs) of wool off of it.
That would v=certainly make a lot of sweaters, hats, mittens, and the like.

At least this boyfriend appears cute and cuddly, my friend. He could keep you warm at night to, though it might make you a bit itchy. Another lovely one~Debbie

Thanks for your review, Debbie. Merino wool is fine enough that it doesn't itch. Those rams aren't very cuddly, not boyfriend material

Really cute story says a lot in fifty words. I love how you use terms related to the sheep picture. and I learned a lot about sheep and some of the words you used in your following paragraphs. I look forward to reading more of your short stories. Keep writing you have a gift. Have a good weekend.
