You did a superb job with this challenge, Yvonne. I enjoyed reading your constanza. Great job with the style, the rhymes, the awesome eerie picture, and the story told both in the verses and the first lines of each verse as a story. Respectfully with Love, Jan

I'm still shivering after reading this wonderful poem. So descriptive.
A story within itself.
Would the word 'that' be better than 'the' in befell the night? Just a thought.Super poem. Well done for encapsulating such danger in so few words.

Ooh your first lines make for a spinechilling read Yvonne, and the Constanza as a whole read adds to the ghostly thrill. Loved this one, great topic for this Halloween week.
cheers,

Hello Yvonne. This is another new style for me to consider and you made it look easy. The story held my attention very well. It is a good read. In my opinion, EVERY poem has to tell a story and this one does well. Robert

Thank you, Robert. Do try one. It was harder than I thought. At least, for me it was.

Hi Damommy,
I do think these poems are so clever. It is not easy to write two poems in one with a specific rhyme pattern. I think you nailed this one. I like the presentation too.
Well done.

The Constanza is a very appealing style, and you have used it well to tell this story. It is a creative piece, spooky but conveying a powerful message
about how things can get out of hand.

Good job in keeping the stanza and rhyming requirements I must confess I can't write something like this. I think the element that you choose for this task, the old mill, fulfilled your intentions splendidly.

I love walking in cemeteries, too. Years ago, my youngest son and I did some tombstone rubbings. Very interesting.

LOL...we never did that...but I saw some very interesting tomb stones...Al Capone...and a circus train that had crashed...there were a lot of animals and children that died...and they were all there...an area of their own...the tomb stones were
    elephants...and balloons of cement...I cried...
