What a place to end!! Of course she is!! I can imagine Bill when he's told he's going to be a daddy! lol. This part was so scary, sad, emotional and so very well written. I would hate to have to go into one of those places. Even if I was sane when I went in, I'd be going nuts after a few days. What a roller coaster chapter, Kathy, you two are writing a fantastic story. Well done! :)) Sandra xx

One sad and lonely jack-o-lantern sitting on a ledge feeling like it would fall over the edge. Hi Cathy. This chapter is good. It has a lot of useful information which explains what is happening in a clear concise way. You have allowed both characters personalities to come to the front and the hint at a bit of a secret between doc and patient and then again at the end. You did a good job keeping this fast paced and interesting. The drama that is Cathy seems to spread over everyone else. No other character had any defining moment unless it was related to her... just an observation. Good luck.

Hello Tootie. As I read this chapter, so many things came back to mind from my life in that timeframe. I had to laugh when I saw the word Viceroy. I think one needs to be very old to remember that name. As you write about the institution Cathy was in, it is easy to understand how tough those institutions were. In fact, part of the reason we have so many homeless is because those institutions no longer exist. It is sad, but it is a reality. When I was deployed overseas I would occasionally get a phone call home and that was very encouraging. Robert

Just a couple small suggestions:
A guy sitting across from us started laughing hysterically. He exclaimed, "I'm crazy, you're crazy, we're all crazy!" - I might have put commas after 'guy' and 'us'
I was about to stand up and say, "I am not," but that's when the nurse on duty walked into the room. - I think the double speech marks should be single in this instance.
"It must be Grandma or Grandpa," I stood up to follow her - period after 'Grandpa'.

So much fuss for nothing, that seems to be the message of the chapter, but by the end of the chapter the fuss might be legit.... Cathy might have a baby. Therefore, the depression could be a consequence of this bundle of joy. Thank you for sharing.

You have written about the effects of stress and it is understandable from your state of anxiety. It is enough to send a person to go bonkers if they are not strong in their minds. Glad they did not give you any medication. Relaxation of mind and body is the way to go, I am glad they chose that.
