Oh, if everyone could just avoid this topic, at least for Thanksgiving dinner. My frustration is that so many people have their one TV guru on whom they rely for all their political opinions. I hate when people say "I could NEVER be friends with someone who voted for ______. My friends run the gamut politically, but there are SOOO many things we have in common and we like to BUILD our friendship on that and not tear it down with politics.

I so agree and when I was growing up my friend and I had completely different politics and still do, but we have been friends for over 50 years now and still can't talk about politics without getting into an argument so your words are very good advice, love Dolly x

This is certainly a fitting message. My brother and I are diametrically opposed in our political views. The poem well meets the contest requirements and the picture is a cute complement.
