Oh, I am so glad that you are back, Trisha. I don't find your poem depressing at all. I'm not sure if there is death involved or just a lover leaving to spread his/her wings. I love to think of people's spirits being with us though. That is comforting to me, not depressing

I know what it is like to be tied to the millstone of work and earning a living and now I feel free as everyday I am able to please myself. Any effort I put in is for my own benefit. I have worked for some selfish and ungrateful people during my years at work. I felt your freedom here Trisha, just like the butterfly enjoying the view, love Dolly x

Free verse is a perfect medium for a poem on being free, it only highlights the spirit of freedom. One thing I would leave out is the use of love'll .. you could have the same effect using 'love stays' or 'love staying'. It has potential, with the omission of a few lines
