First of all, your alliteration carries this poem. The s's effect the sound of the pensive wind. We also get the sizzing of the logs of wood burning for the roasting of chestnuts. The imagery will certainly draw the reader in vicariously enjoy the pizzoccheri. Yum.You took us on a fall journey from the breezy woods to the warm meal by the fire. Nice.

    Thank you Y.M Roger!

I enjoyed your entry , the poetic vibe but in the end I gave my vote to Barb Hensongispsaca who spoke about family sentiments and loss...a strong theme.

Glad you liked my wee poem ..I simply wrote what happens in Autumn.

I hope you found the video I provided on pizzoccheri below the note section .. A regional dish of the Valtellina ( North of Italy , at the foot of the Alps) my father's birthplace.

I wish you a peaceful weekend.

    Ciao!

like the idea of your poem. The taste of food make it look so cheery, giving it a hungry affects. I have never found fresh chestnuts. We have nuts on the ground, usually hickory nuts and hazel nuts.

    Roasted or boiled actually.

It's fun collecting them despite now and then getting your fingers pricked by a thorn or two.

Glad you enjoyed reading my poem .. I hope you noticed the video ,I provided in the note section.

The list of rules for this contest is so long that one must scroll down a considerable way to see it...

It shows you what pizzoccheri are, a regional dish from the north where my father was born.

Oh my word, did that look good!!!!! what were the brown strips? and what kind of greens were they? If you don't mind my asking.
What a neat idea to accompany your tantalizing poem with a tantalizing video of the making of such a tempting and delicious looking meal.
One thing you might want to change - I believe the first and last words have to be synonyms. (I had to change mine after I wrote it.
Anyway, that was delightful.

    Ciao!

The strips are the special tagliatelle made of buckwheat ....the greens are cabbage ( or spinch) plus potatoes, cheese, butter and garlic ( which I do not use)

You can find voice videos to find out the ingredients and time needed to cook pizzoccheri.

Thanks for your input..I will edit last word ..

    Ciao!
