This meets the Club Challenge splendidly as you deliver a well penned and engaging story in the word count limitations allotted. Soap is such a little thing we take for granted - funny how unimportant things become treasure when we can no longer come by them easily. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Oh wow you took us to the different state of mind as we see another life, another way of happiness. From a child's point of view on happiness, makes us think

This is the kind of story that puts life in perspective. How petty some of our peacetime moans are. It sometimes takes genuine deprivation to bring true values back into focus. I thought this reminiscence particularly well written.

I like this a lot. It has veracity, and I can imagine this happening {smiles}.
It just burned its way across the country leaving a trail of devastation behind. -- I like the idea of a war burning its way across the country. However, I'd look to get rid of the "just". (Just is one of those words I try and avoid whenever possible.)
No, but my water's boring. -- I love this. It's the kind of thing a toddler would say {smiles}.

Thanks, Alex.
BTW, I have started the course. The materials and assignments are great, but the technology is not the best. We are all having problems logging in...

MJ,
Wow. That was a long-- but happy-- bath. They say good things come to him who waits - that proved true for the little girl in the bathtub. Just sit and wait. Haha
Your opening line/paragraph was very dramatic and certainly set the scene for this tiny tale- but I think that's exactly what the war leaders want, isn't it?
Devastation and depression among their victims, so the cry to government is 'anything to stop this!'
Very nice, MJ. Thank you!

That was a lovely story about your mum and grandad, Maria, If only the powers that be would take a look at what war means to those left at home, perhaps war could be a thing of history not of the permanent ongoing type. Your dear grandad, bless his heart. :)) Sandra xx
