it must be difficult when your specialists can't agree on the amount of walking you should do. Ironic that you were able make the stairs and then realized a lift was available. You got your exercise in that way. I can understand why you wanted to take a ride on the Carlingford line. It is dismaying when those historic places close, but all in the name of progress, I suppose. Very smoothly written. judi

Thanks Judi you wait and see what my Swan song poem is gonna be as I exit this place real soon. Appreciate the great review. Changes are coming on that closing line including more Light rail incorporated with our second bit Western City, Parramatta's Light rail when it happens.
-
You're very welcome. I used public transit quite a bit when we lived in Massachusetts and did a lot of walking. Enjoy your winter retreat. judi

Hi Judi I went to the Physiotherapist yesterday. I am now approved to walk as much as I want. The only thing he cautioned me on is if I am injured top take it easy. So we now have agreement right across that I can walk as much as I like.
-
That's good news. Now you can enjoy your walks again. judi

Thanks for introducing us to Strava. I'm good for now, since my son bought me an Apple watch to count my steps. But if it breaks down, I now know what to do. Pushing myself to walk and do exercise are the only things that help my Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy. Happy walking and train riding and I hope you get properly reimbursed for all your treatments - Joan

Thanks Joan I will possibly get some money from the Government "My Aged Care" Plan I am on.
Fingers crossed. Be careful out there--especially around potholes. -Joan
-
One of our carers that took me shopping other week has a "Dick Tracy" watch hehe...no screen but she has a phone in the watch!
-
I gave up my cellphone ten years ago after I retired and had not used the phone for a year--free at last". The watch gives me useful health information. Smiles- Joan

Walking is good for the body and soul. Unfortunately I cannot walk very much, having prolapsed discs and lately two pelvic fractures. I was forced to retire in 1983 as I was banned from travelling and was medically condemned. It did not stop me from being active and went on to be in business for myself. Created and ran 3 companies and now I am at leisure having retired from that as well.
Wishing you the best

A very well-written story about the joy to be able to walk while we still can. My late husband and I walked as much as we could together in our younger years. Now that he is not here any longer and I am wheelchair bound I truly miss those days.

Loss of mobility is one of the hardest things to bear in old age, especially when everything else is in good working order. You describe the battles and the frustrations well in this chapter.

Hello Sankey Nice to know that you are posting. From what you are saying that you are leaving Fanstory and found a site where you don't have to pay, sounds interesting.
So of what I understand you have set up a FREE account for those who want to keep in touch with you, and you can't review from the new account but I can still read your stuff and let me know of errors and what I think about your writings.
