It's wonderful how writing can instantly plunge the author and:or the reader way back in their memories. It shines out throughout this piece that the author was in a time long gone, and it's very effective.
This excerpt shows that clearly "oh the fun -
Making gifts from sugar and Steen's -
Sweet mem'ries of the lot of us"

Love it. It can make any reader reminisce of holidays of family gatherings. Everyone's favorite part is the food and you've captured the excitement of it. Nicely done.

Mmmm such a delicious poem. Reminds me of my Mom's homemade fudge and I and my little sister helping to make it! Your words read fast and engagingly. A good chance to win, I believe. Keep up the good word crafting.

Your poem is very skillfully-written and enthusiastic. You have made excellent use of specific details to describe the making of that delicious treat and the fun the family had.

Hi! I liked your poem! I learned something new. It seems that it was a wounderful time! Thanks for sharing it! I have suggestions on one line:

When Christmastime would roll around
Space: When Christmas time would roll around

You made me hungry, they look delicious! Your description its fantastic. You made one learn how to make them and eat them!

Keep writing!

Well now, we all done did our Christmas shopping shaking that ole orange tree for them juicy things. Then we go to the neighbors and trade for some peaches or tomatoes. Never had no candy to mix anything up cause they never reached home.

Ahhhhh...the differences our locations bring to holiday traditions - a wonderful thing! Thank you for the review, Jose.
P.S. That second statement of your 'disclaimer' is a false statement. :-) :-)

Hello mystery writer. That's a very nice story and reflection upon a time that clearly brought great joy. The detail of making the pralines clearly stands out in your memory. I like the story a lot and think you did a very good job in the narrative. Robert
