A surprisingly graphic horror story told in four short stanzas. We SEE the moonlit house and how the young killer entered and the mad survivor rocking on the pitch. Good use of subtle rhymes. Rod

Thanks for the insightful review Rod. As you know, not my regular, peaceful, whimsical style.
I remember passing an old house in Vermont and felt a frisson go down my spine. My local friend told me that a girl was murdered there years ago. Creepy.

This certainly meets the contest requirements - dark and scary! What makes it particularly scary is the fact that this kind of random attack does happen.

Thanks for the review. There is actually a creepy house in Vermont that I got shivers when I passed by. My local friend then told me that a girl had been murdered there years ago.
I could not imagine the horror of losing your entire family, yet you survive to live out your days alone with only bittersweet memories.
