This is lovely. Beautiful imagery to brighten us as we prepare for winter. 'as slow-rising sun lifts sleepy head' was a stand-out line for me. It's a great piece of anthropomorphic personification. I can see why this won.

Congratulations on winning the contest with your splendid ensemble about spring. I enjoyed your rhymed quatrains, use of alliteration and personification of the "sun," plus the "bees" simile. Here's to hope! -Joan

What a truly lovely poem about my favorite of all the seasons. You paint a gorgeous picture! I especially love "The butterflies drawn to these beautiful blooms loop countless circles, fly under my chin..." What imagery! I can see why this won -- congratulations!

"Is It Spring?", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review.
To me, this is a six, but I only have fives left. I look forward to seeing your next post.

While your autumn is nigh, our spring is likewise here. But of course, I'm not sure where you reside at the moment, this a superb poem dedicated to the glory of spring, in which you justifiably are a winner. Superbly written in classical poetic verse and abcb rhyming, well done, congratulations, blessings, Roy

I really like your poem. The picture goes well I think, and I especially like the colors that you chose to make the poem. It even makes it feel springy.

I don't have a six for this and hope a virtual one will do. Loved it and it placed such fresh images in my mind. It is as good as the painting you used with the irises in the foreground. Best wishes

There is wonderment in these words as spring is a breath of fresh air and it is long time before I experience it again, but I experienced it through your words, here, love Dolly x

This is absolutely beautiful! Your beautiful and colorful writing captures what Spring is all about. I can picture it with my mind's eye without the excellent accompanying artwork. Bring on Spring I say! Well done!
