Bog is the appropriate place to grow pollywog, a larval frog or toad, to transform a frog; you have stated Nature and animal transformation connection; well said, well done.

Thanks for your review. In searching about the transformation, I also had checked the spelling at Merriam Webster online. 'Polliwog' is a variant spelling, but I always knew it with the 'y.'

What's a 'polliwog?' I have no idea what that word means or the meaning of your poem and I hope you can enlighten me, I wish you luck with the contest though, love Dolly x

Dolly,
Check out the life cycle of a frog on the Internet and you will discover the transformation of the pollywog. I know you have bogs in England ... LOL

You did a great job on a writing prompt that I, myself, felt was too difficult to attempt. I also like the picture that you chose to go with it. Good luck in the contest voting.

Thanks Susan for your encouragement. FYI ... a traditional Japanese Haiku does not have to have the strict English 5-7-5 syllable structure.
