Nice job creating a different meaning to rocks and foundations in life. I guess it would be an extended metaphor throughout. I like the author notes, too. The first stanza made me smile to think of children mistaking quartz crystals for diamonds. Thanks for a good entry!

Rocks hold a fascination for me and I saw the most beautiful collection of rocks and crystals in Funchal, Madeira, and I have collected a few on the beach, I enjoyed your rhymes here and wish you luck with the contest, your mystical write has a moral to the story too, as treasure is found in the oddest of places, love Dolly x
