I love the first paragraph because I think Lewis Carroll is awesome! Yes, real life is sometimes too much. Reading and writing fiction is much more comfortable for me. Well, going back to pen and paper can sometimes be more comfortable, I think. I love the way you ended this and I think it's very fortunate that you have such a nice experience with writing prompts.

Thank you. Yes I feel that I am an extremely lucky person indeed. I am paid to work with words all day, and since finding FS I can play with them to my heart's content at night.

I have just bought Lewis Carroll. I was left feeling centered and light I had just spent the night writing a masterpiece.
I to revert to pen and paper it feels more natural and far more magical.

I can identify myself with this part of your story:" have always been a great one for writing letters, loving the feel of a fountain pen flowing over a sheet of paper. I derive enormous satisfaction from this form of communication, and I mourn what is now becoming something of a lost art. Since my children have grown up, and I am more or less on my own, and left to my own devices, I have become more adventurous in my writing. I am a Jack-of-all-Trades: will write on any subject, any length, any time limit. But boy, as a singer said last night about his craft,

Thanks for your review and comments. I'm sorry but I don't understand something. I was always taught that a speech should start on a new line. Is that not true?

I believe that the effective use of the comma and the quotation marks are more in line with correct sentence structure...but I may certainly in error?
