I enjoyed your limerick for the contest, Mystery author. Good job on its style. The picture is so cute. I like the use of the word quark as in keeping with the scientific nature. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

Thanks for your review. It's amazing what ducks can learn!

This is a great entry in this limerick poetry contest, a very quirky narrative, and not only that, but a very witty one as well. Good job, good luck, blessings, Roy

Thanks for your review.
What a clever ducky to know about quarks. Cleverer than I am!

I don?t much. A friend of mine does.
Comment from Janice Canerdy
Though the meter in this limerick is not smooth (varies from line to line, when there IS meter at all)--it is BRILLIANT. Use of "quack" and "quark"
shows real imagination. The poem is funny too.

Let's just pretend it's not trying to be a limerick then, shall we? haha.

Oh, okay! LOL! You took my comment really well. Some people would have been extremely indignant!

I am thick-skinned, and had already felt that my lines were a bit off rhythm.
I am happy to have things pointed out to me - that's what a review is for. (Except most people want praise)

Ha! Ha! There' a clever little duck. A clever poet too, with the 'quark/quack' wordplay. The last line of a limerick is absolutely critical, and you have nailed it here.

I've nailed my duck to the quark... poor duck.
Thanks for your review.

Of course, limericks are funny! Yours hit my funny bone with your "quark ..."
Your selected cartoon image is a super companion to your verse. I would like to know your source so I might consider for some of my non-limerick posts.
Good luck in the voting.

Hi Mark, thanks for reviewing my bit of fluffy duck.
When I went looking for an image to accompany it, I googled something like 'cartoon photos of quacking duck'. Various ducks came up andI chose the following one (which I amended to reposition one of the quacks):

I guess that duck really psyched him out, lol. I enjoyed reading this humorous limerick, and the image went well with it. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the voting.

Thanks for reviewing, Susan!

It's funny, and the punchline works well, but the way limerick scansion works puts the stress on beSIDE him which means the next line doesn't quite work. Limericks need to roll off the tongue.

It was written by the duck's friend.... good at quantum physics but not poetry.
Comment from Dolly'sPoems
A humorous Limerick with a stumbling meter, but I liked the sentiments and the fun subject and wish you luck with the contest, best wishes, love Dolly x

Everyone knows that ducks can't walk straight, especially when writing limericks.

Ha ha ha! Great answer!

Very funny poem:"A physicist was sitting in the park -
quantum theory in his head for a lark.
A duck sat down beside him,
and he thought that it looked dim" On one hand the physician that is lost in his nebula and on the other hand the smart duck "quarck, quarck, quarck

The duck had the right answer. Thus proving it wasn't a birdbrain.
Thanks for your review.

Funny:)
Comment from Gloria ....
I always figured physicists had ducks for assistants and perhaps a little quart inside them too. lol
My theoretical prediction is this is a metrically quirkly, but fantastically quarky entry into this contest.
Best of luck to you in the booth. :)

Clever ducky! Yeah, the metre was hard to pin down - ok if 'theory' is run together as 2 syllables rather than 3.
