I like the consonance in this pearl of wisdom. Bad times can be an inspiration to writers because writing is cathartic.
Congratulations on the honorable mention in the contest.
Keep writing
Joan

This three-line poem, Always Another Line, expressed as a 5-7-5, builds this poem, as all are, by what touches our heart, mind, and soul. Each cheer and tear becomes the stuff of poetry.

Oh ya, you are the Queen of color presentation of poems. This simple little poem speaks volumes to me. My muse has taken to napping lately. I need to kick her butt and get her moving again. I have no voice without her. Your poem has me hoping for that inspiration that will get the alphabet swirling around in my head again. Le sigh...

Best wishes in the contest.

LOL! :) I could use a crown these days.... :) ;) Thanx so much for your wonderful review, Joy -- you do so have a knack for making me smile out here and I thank you so very much for that!! ;) :) I hope you can 'bribe' your muse with some special ice cream or even some cotton candy (it sometimes works for mine!!)..... I used to use chocolate until it started causing migraines when my crazy female body 'changed'...sigh..... ;) :) :) You take car out there, ma'am and have a great Sunday with the family! ;) Yvette

Thank you for reminding us that poets can find inspiration in many different places. I admired your use of alliteration and the idea of a "fractured refrain". Cheers- Joan

I think this is nicely done.
It's true, shattered dreams sing to the poet's pen, maybe more than fulfilled ones.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

Very nicely done. It's difficult to capture an emotion or an image in so few words. That you have done. I especially liked the alliteration of "sing songs" and "poet's pen." A nice touch. Thank you for sharing your writing. Go well.

I really like the last line of this one, Yvette. "Life's fractured refrain." How sad. It's the stuff of good poetry though. The song may be a dirge, but sad songs have the most meaning sometimes. You have a knack for putting meaning into these short poems. I think you will probably be on the leader board with this one.

Such a wonderful poem in just three lines, Yvette. Well chosen words, nice alliteration and the presentation is amazing. Never read a three line poem with so much impact. Have been away for 2 weeks, had no time to review, but I will go back to catch it up!! Fia

Words just tend to flow from pen to paper about shattered dreams and loss.A release of our frustrations here keep us from going crackers.
