Often people prefer to be right .. Me included.. I could have avoid arguments .. most of them for futile reasons ... because I wanted to be right... I often think back at my life with my papa ' and I realised that I was wrong ..I could have avoid much unpleasantness had I chosen to be kind instead of right.
Pa is gone now and I regret my actions ..I can't undo the harm done and tell him I'm sorry. Living in regret is not nice .. The fact that he was my papa ' and elderly I should have shown him respect.
Your poem teaches us an important lesson : that a kind word helps us live happier lives.... our relationship with our loved one will benefit.
