Hi Sally,
I didn't get to decorate accordingly some of the other things you write and I wanted to offer something in your portfolio/profile that didn't have a six attached and what better than a poem with words that you don't hear all the time ( I love that you used the word Tempest) for Hurricane Dorian. I hope that you weathered it okay! Also I adored your usage of Gobsmacked!!! Fonda

Thank you for the wonderful review and kind comments, dear Fonda. I can?t believe you went back to catch this one. I am so honored. Gobsmacked is a great word and I couldn?t wait to use it. I am glad the Lord heard my prayer for mercy. The initial forecast of hurricane Dorian was foreboding. It looked as if I was going to be Gobsmacked for sure. A close one!
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally xoxo

I do hope that you aren't in the projected pathway of Dorian any longer. It sounds tonight like central Florida might be spared? A lot of folks in the trajectory are now undoubtedly feeling that they are about to be gobsmacked. Your poem says it all. Prayers for you all!

Thank you very much for the excellent review and kind concern, Carla. It seems to have slowed a bit but still a viable threat to my state. It is raining off and on today with windy conditions. I see my tall trees bending right outside my window.
Sending you my best today as always. I hope you are well and safe.

I am glad to hear you?re out of harms way, dear Barbara. We are an hour inland from the Atlantic and my married son and grandchildren are near Jacksonville Beach. They will be heading to a shelter. We are hunkered down today.
Sending you my best today as always,

While there's nothing humorous about a hurricane while it happens, sometimes people find humor in the remains. After Hurricane Agnes, when the water subsided, a toilet seat was hanging in a tree. No one ever bothered to try to get it down. It was part of the folklore. And for my 70th birthday, thanks to Irma, for dinner, my husband and I ate Cheerios by candlelight. I still tell him he owes me dinner. Love the picture. Wish I Had that much hair.

Yes, Irma rolled us aa category 2 hurricane. We were without power for 9 days and lost thousands of dollars in food. But, our home was in tact and we still had each other. We bought a new a/c as the electrical surges blew ours.
Thanks so much and I hope you are well and safe out of harms way. Most of my family is in central to northern Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. Sal xo

Sally, I enjoyed this short and narrow poem. It has a playfulness about it which made me smile. Hurricane Dorian does not sound like a laughing matter though so please take care and be prepared. Thinking of you. Stay safe. ~DDxx

I use that word in my vocabulary too - it's quite a useful one for extreme situations. The photo is a hoot but the storm sure won't be. I'll pray for your wellbeing, and others.

From Orlando to Jacksonville. We are all spread out. My youngest son is in Scotland right now. Lucky man. Looks like we may get grazed with this monster cane. Thank you for your sweet concern. I will post tomorrow for the week whilst I have power. It?s suppose to hit Jackson and me Tuesday-ish. XO

Hi Sally. First of all I wish you and your state and easy pass to the hurricane(s) expected this season. A few weeks ago we had a terrible storm here in Wisconsin with uprooted trees, wires down, power out, flooding. Took a long time to get straightened out. I must say ouch to "gobsmacked." One of my most unfavorite words ever. I envision gobs of phlegm hurled toward someone. Yuk. Love the image, though. Marilyn

Thank you for the kind review, Marilyn. I?m so glad to hear you are doing much better in Wisconsin! Wow, we have powerful thunderstorms moving through the state today, however, it seems to defy predictions and constantly changing. I hope to post my FanStory work for the week tomorrow morning before we hunker down. Sending you my best and thank you so much for your prayers and sweet concern.

Hang tight. Those storms are fierce.

I hope you and your family will stay safe during the hurricane. I've never witnessed one myself, but I think gobsmacked would describe one accurately. Stay safe!
