Lots of fun. I enjoyed reading this. Luckily, so far, I'm still okay with brain function. The image is appropriate and matches your words. Best of luck in the contest with this fine write. Marilyn

I can relate to those "senior moments." This was a well written and well rhymed series of verses. I suppose the brain is the most important part of the body, so this fits the criteria. Good luck.

OMG, this is way, way, way too relatable. My husband and I look like a comedy team in the way we finish each other's sentences - simply because the one who started them can't remember a necessary word or name. I can't count the number of times I've started a story and forgotten where in the world I was going with it.

Your poem is funny and believable, reads smoothly and rhymes well. Good luck in the contest.

well, at least you have a pal right there ya'll can switch off helping each other. But that's too funny - it's not the punch line you forget, it's the direction. I'm laughing because I do that too. terribly embarrassing.
Thanks for your very kind words and good wishes!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem we all are forgetting things sometimes no matter the age and the circumstances. I really liked this part :"At times, when talking to my friends,
The word I mean slips from my mind;
But they pitch in, in times of need
For we're all in the same dern bind."

Hello, I think your poem is something that we all go through and blame on age, when I think mostly what it is, that we've just grown impatient. Like a guy once told me, "I have to find my driving glasses in order to find my reading glasses". Good luck in the contest.

    Impatient. hmmm
That would be a nice solution. I'll try to keep it in mind, slow down, etc. will let you know if it works. Thanks for the idea and for the good wishes.

You are most welcome. The review of your poem was just my opinion. But I've decided not to be so hard on myself. And perhaps, you could give it a try.

    I will. thanks.
Another thing I think probably doesn't help, is too many things running through my mind instead of concentrating totally on whatever the problem is.

Another thought: Is that if you can't remember, at least you can laugh. A sense of humor does make a difference.
reply by the author on 24-Aug-2019
absolutely. (it gets a little hysterical at times, needs a few cuss words added to the mix- that helps) :)

Oh, how I relate to this! My favorite line is "The thing I say most often now
Is "Have I told you that before?" And then I smile because I see You don't remember anymore." because it captures so well the humor of two people growing old together. Very nice!

This is a fantastic posting. Sadly, I can relate to it too well. lol

This is my favorite verse:
The thing I say most often now
Is "Have I told you that before?"
And then I smile because I see
You don't remember anymore.

Sincere best wishes in the contest!!!
