Good luck in the contest Kay. That is a great picture of Kelly. I can just imagine her licking your face as if to say 'its okay, I'm here'. How could one not love that beautiful face. I think it was great that your words mingled both of your lives but focused on Kelly. Great job.

Hello my friend, Face-licks are the best. Kelly passed some years ago. I have mini-Schnauzer now, he is thirteen. Thanks so much for reading. Love, Kace.

Oh Kace I am so sorry for your loss, Kelly looked adorable. What is your new Schnauzer's name?

All good things have to end and Kelly had a great life. Toby is nearly thirteen, guess I'll be sending him home not too soon though.
Thanks for asking, Kel died in 2000.

Wow, almost thirteen, he is doing good. I agree that their life span is just not long enough. I have a thirteen year old cat and an eleven year old lab, it great to have our friends around isn't it?

Great to have our furry friends, so sad when their time is up. XXK.

So true, I have decided to enjoy their love for as long as they are with me.

This tells the story of Kelly, the dog that is a true blue, true friend, lover of you, she has taught you the love of life, since the day of your amputated life; well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Write to Inspire, Change.

Hello Teri, Thanks so much for dropping in. God sent me a furry angel when I needed her so much. That was long ago. I have a mini-schnauzer now, he is 13 and I will have to send him home one day. Blessings, Kace.

Beautiful heart beating for two -- This line with only five words is very tender and shares so much that is wonderful about Kelly. I am so glad she is a vital part of your life. In reading your profile, I am happy to see that you paint. I, most often, do my own postings' illustrations and it is as joyful a happening for me as it is to complete a poem I feel has turned out well. I just use my computer's paint program and that's why my artwork is a bit rustic. I laugh about this and just tell people that I consider myself to be a type of Grandma Moses in the area of computer graphics. I'm getting to be about as old as she was, too. LOL

Hello Spangle, Kelly died in 2000. Her job done, went home to her Heavenly Father. I have another little dog now, he is a mini-schnauzer. Unconditional love on legs! Bless you, we are all getting like grandma Moses. I have never used Paint, I was trained as designer at age 15 and continue to paint in pastel. Now, I will be 74 next month! Love, Kace.

I am dog sitting this weekend for a friend. She is a rescued chihuahua from a puppy mill. All she knew was being in a cage and producing litter after litter. She is adjusting to a life of Paradise now with lots of love and new experiences. I am seventy-five and mostly self-taught in writing and art. I just do what is coming from my soul. I am glad you have another little dog. Pets are precious! XOXO Janet

Hello Janet, Yes, we rescued Toby from a shelter. Painting is big part of my life, I started an art gallery twenty five years ago, just revisited it and it was wonderful to see how far the group had come. I couldn't do these long trips without my carer. My aged care package covers mileage (500klm.) and a carer. Our Govt has us covered for everything as long as we are not in a nursing home. Perish the thought. My unit is fully set-up for my electric wheelchair and you could hold a barn dance in the bathroom, it's so big! Love, Kace.

Sometimes animals are better than people when you're depressed. They don't judge or tell you to snap out of it. They just love you the way you are. I have a cat that always sits on my chest and purrs when I've had a bad day. She knows. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks so much Cindy. Apparently cats can lower your blood pressure. I used to have five cats!

This is a beautiful tribute to Kelly. I enjoyed reading it, Aussie. Your words are from your heart. The picture is beautiful. Animals know more than we give them credit for. I am glad you found comfort in her and she with you. Thanks for sharing. Jan
