Hi John, This is such a sweet and sad poem. Her spirit found it's way into the whittler's hands and came through in his work while he was working. So sweet. Nicely done. :)

That's so sad, and on Christmas eve. This makes me want to cry. It sounds like Niamh knew how much she was loved. What a sad Christmas that would be.

What a poignant story poem this is about a man who lost his wife on Christmas Eve while whittling. The angel he carved could easily have been his wife's spirit as she passed. A lovely poem about one's faith in a blessed hereafter for those we loved and lost.

    My wife is well my dear friend. This song is just a figment of my imagination.

There's much sadness in these words, the loss of an angel and I am sorry for your loss, my husband always called me his angel, best wishes, love Dolly x

How sad but comforting in knowing that Niamh was happy in her last hours. How beautiful you set the scene with your magically descriptive words. I think the chosen image sets the scene for your work. Thank you
