A very well-written poem and an excellent interpretation of the pix this picture challenge. The poor duck thougt he will cool off in the bowl of water and nearly ends up in the boiling water.

Hi Trisha. I'm glad you made it in for this post. No-no duck l'orange or any other kind of cooked duck for me. I'm glad he flew away. I like your a-b-d rhyme scheme. Marilyn

Cute poem with good rhyming! That duck had a very strong survival instinct while you were arguing over its fate. You probably were left with just the orange to eat.

This meets the Club Challenge splendidly as you deliver a delightfully fun piece that embraces the artwork with a story. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

I loved the story you tell in your poem. The rhyming is truly great, though some of the meter is off, i.e., third stanza, third line is too short. Maybe add "out" after "stressed", or "both" before "were".

Last stanza sums up your tale beautifully, but might flow better if the word "if" is deleted from the third line, and "a ducks" changed to "my". It's such a common phrase I think most people would automatically read it as "duck's" even if the actual word isn't there.

I hope I've been helpful. I enjoyed your poem so much just as you've written it. ...ec

The duck does look like he is being served alive. Poor thing. It is always good to hear they escaped being dinner. I have only had duck a few times. I can't remember what it even tasted like. This is fun, I saw no errors. Rox
