Hi DD. For this contest, I was trying to showcase summertime... haha. It is either the grill or a lazy river.. those mean summer to me.

Near the woods we have a stream that runs ..the water comes from above the valley from the snow melting in the warmer weather ..it's not deep enough to swim in it (I'm not a fond swimmer, anyway) but I have at times dipped my feet in.
There are (chesnuts) trees all around like in your pic and often I have sat with my dog in the past under the limbs ( I love this terms you used .. it's very poetic.)
They are peaceful moments ( like those when I walk in the woods).
I 'm happy your poem made the podium ..a meritable win , indeed!

I wouldn't be able to live in a city ..Milano is less than an hour's drive away but.... all the smog, polution and choatic noise are just not for me..
You describe it well the " haze "one falls "victim" to...all you can hear is the melody of the stream, a chirp and sometimes the breeze caressing the leaves....and somethimes you actually take note that you are breathing and your heart is pumping.

Hi Marilyn. I was thinking about floating on a peaceful, lazy river on a hot day. It sounds like the perfect thing to do on a summer day. Thanks for the great review.

Melissa, right now with the weather being what it is, I also wish to dive into a cool lazy river. I'm working on my house and painting it. The weather is in the hundreds and I just got home. I'm tired. My neck, back and hands hurts. I got paint all over me and I stink. :) this is a good entry for the ABC Poetry Contest.
