Vivid imagery, meaty story concisely told. Rhythm is a tad off in some of the verses--shouldn't be hard to tweak--good choice of rhyming words. Cheers. LIZ

Hello, Lance!
First of all, I so enjoy story poems filled with rich history and action. Yours contains both! Hardin was quite the character! Gawd! Shooting a man because he snored or an "Indian just for practice?" Whew!
Your poem reads well aloud.

Thank you for sharing and best wishes!

This poem is great on so many levels. It's builds a picture, tells a story, teaches us a lesson whilst all along feeding us facts and yet still able to maintain its genuinely enjoyable rhyming rhythm. Very good, thanks for the share.

Excellent ... well deserving of a sixer but i'm all out ... it delivers well with a good intention delivering the idea with a deadly force reaching the imagination and alerting the emotion to a entity of grand proportions. Its voice is clear with deliberation and fact with research to embellish the theme whereby it has a glorious end unlike this cowboy guy.

Hello
Ah the sociopaths of the old west, thank goodness they didn't have automatic rifles!
This is a well written poem in the style adhered to for the content.
Good luck in the contest

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

NIce clear history of a scary violent man. Really people should know not to play cards with him. How could a 16 year old kill 3 armed men. It seems unbelievable. He died the way he lived.
Good luck and keep writing.

I really enjoyed this fine work, the work was articulate, a fine poem, a great story and a great expose' of a heartless gunslinger, who lived up to the legend of gunslingers with legend status, I don't think anyone who knows the old west wouldn't have heard of him. Well done, written in no fixed meter and abcb rhyming, good job, good luck, blessings, Roy

Wow -- so many of those outlaws were just 'cold' in many ways... :( A wonderful collection of quatrains in abcb format as prescribed - thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

I think this is a good entry for the Cowboy Poem writing prompt.
This verse tells us about John Wesley Hardin, in a nicely rhymed poem.
Well done and I wish you luck with the contest.
