I love roses too, but I was expecting to see a forget-me-not! Therefore this was a (pleasant) surprise. Sweet, fresh and natural-sounding. What more can one ask?

Hi Sallyo. I'm glad you love roses. They bring a smile to those that can see beauty. Happy it bought one to you. :)

What a wonderful and well thought out way to describe this beautiful flower. The beautiful wording and accompanying artwork fuse together superbly. Even if there wasn't a photo, I could visualize what you are saying. I like this and think that you should do well in the contest. Well done.

The correct syllable count here for your nonet and the sunshine encourages the yellow rose with the help of the dew, a fine write, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Wow...this one really brings the imagery on (no pic necessary!!) and, not only that, it really helps bring the blood pressure down! So beautiful and so very gentle... :) ;) Thank you for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

I write for your smile, though sometimes my smile becomes a leer. I apologize for that. I am an imperfect specimen of the human race, Yvette. I'm glad you liked this one. :)

What a lovely photo and your nonet pays homage nicely to the beauty of the rose. It seems to be a difficult form and yours is done skilfully to fit the syllable count.

LisaMay, the beauty of a rose is in the eye of the beholder. :) I am glad you found this to mirror your beauty.

Dear Mystery Writer,
Yep. This is so pretty!! So well-suited to the subject. Roses. My, my. Roses. There's nothing quite like them, is there??? This was a beautifully designed nonet for the contest. Good luck!

Comment from Darlene Franklin
I love the vivid imagery of the first two lines, especially the way a breath of sunshine signals the rose will be yellow. Well done with the nonet, and good luck!

I thought the color had significance but I confess I'm not terribly up on the meaning of different colors. Thanks for educating me!

Yellow roses are my favorite and you've definitely done justice to this one with your lovely nonet. The picture is gorgeous and supports your poetry.
Best wishes in the contest!
