I could swear I read this exact same thing pic and all a few days ago - de ja vu. It meets the contest requirements in that you deliver a complete story, but you see to have missed the mark on the word count:
I counted with a word check and manually and get 74 words and not the required 75. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

You do know you are not allowed to enter the same story again, right? It's in the list of site regulations.

I doubt it. Given the same circumstance if it were two children instead do you think they would have learned that lesson the first time? Come on. Some of us are still working on it in one way or another. In any event cute flash story. This could be the start of a series of stories about the antics between the pair. This could be great fun for a syndicated column, a blog or a comic strip. If you're timid you could start off in a local newsletter or community bulletin/small town paper just to get your feet wet. Good job!

I found this post very entertaining and readable, but it could have been polished more. In the sentence "The dog tries to bite at her it is a little confusing. At first I thought you meant the owner. I would put " the cat". Instead and then use the pronoun she. I know it might seem I am splicing hairs, but at first I misunderstood it. Otherwise, it was a very entertaining 75 word story.

I doubt that the pets learned a lesson, but maybe the owner did. Thanks for letting us know the inspiration for your short story and adding the reinforcing picture. Best wishes in the competition- Joan

If it meant to be a fable then it could reached that mandate. Your story states facts but is not containing any surprising reaction
Good luck with the contest

This seventy-five-word story, A Dog and Cat Fight, has the required word count and requires that someone acknowledge that a lesson was learned. I did. Don't feed the pets together.

Thanks for sharing this flash fiction story about the never ending competition between dogs and cats. There is always something going on, and sometimes it is very humorous.

Thank you, my friend! Yes, dogs and cats have different behaviors than us. It feels like they sometimes acts humans like us and that's why they are funny and friendly. I am happy that you enjoyed my story!

Good read, image to match, different and interesting, innocent looking animals, but very mischievous, i like the topic and the way you so nicely
told the tale.
Good Luck and well done!

So I am wondering why the pet parent doesn't just feed the two animals separately? That's what I do with mine so that they don't fight over food. Otherwise, they get along famously.
Excellent storytelling. You bring these pets and their situation to life.
Good luck in the contest.

I understand the concept but I am not sure if it is good enough to stand alone. Maybe if you added some dialogue between the cat and the dog would make it more interesting.
