Hi Debra,
You're probably sound asleep as I write this review, eh?
I enjoyed your story. Molly is a really nice dog! My uncle owned am English Springer Spaniel once. Used him for duck hunting.
First of all, I like your title... "Molly's Folly". Rhyming right off the bat.
Well, he who hesitates is lost, I guess.
Can I offer one suggestion?
"I didn't make my mind up quick
enough which one to chase;" ... (I suggest,
I didn't settle soon enough
which one of them to chase;)
Terrific entry for the Animal Crackers event!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Hi Kimbob :)
The time at the top of your review says you wrote it 14hrs ago, which would've been around 1am here - yep, I was sleeping!
Thank you so much for your great review and for the suggestion (which I've taken - so much smoother than the line I had before!)
I really appreciate your time reading and reviewing something from the depths of my portfolio!
Best wishes, Debra :)

Oh which to chase, which to chase, the floppy earred bouncer or the fluffed-up feathered flapper???? Left or right, steak or curry, cake or ice-cream, chocolate or strawberry??? Leave it too long and puff they go out of ones reach and never to enter the realms of our tummy ever again... but maybe next time... I can squeeze down a burrow hole or strap on glider wings to follow those rascally critters in to their space!!! Liked this Mutt's mindbending adventures on the green forecourt of wimbledon common (or is that wednesbury???!!) :)

Haha! I bet all of those idea's went through Molly's mind when faced with two equally tempting chase-able critters!
Thanks for the fun, Dale.
Best wishes, Debra :)

Poor Molly. I bet she is belting herself over the head for not being quick enough to 'choose and pursue'. Weren't you lucky to see the two at one time?

Hi Judy, thanks for your feedback :)
It was lucky to be able to capture the moment on camera... Molly has usually scared everything off with her boisterousness before I even get chance to turn the camera on!
Best wishes, Debra :)

Great little story of how enthusiasm beyond control, misses the choice making which missed the satisfaction for completion

This is so cute. Molly is adorable. When chasing a squirrel, my dog has no indecision. She takes off like a shot. I imagine if there were two and each went in a different direction she'd be caught up short which one to follow. Marilyn

This is an adorable poem. That inner hound hesitated just long enough to lose both of her targets. That was probably best for all three concerned. Is this your own picture? I can't image finding one that would fit your verse better.

Adorable! Another hidden morality tale that springs to our hearts and makes us smile even as we silently equate the scene to the embracing the differences between us without alarm or the need to lash out like...well, you know, the White House occupant... (smile)--Karenina

Yes, they are not really skilled hunters, being spoilt, well fed, and very unskilled hunters. Beautifully written Debra, I loved this poem, I have written a few about our pets, a definite two about dogs we've owned, well done. Three great stanzas in ballad style, 8686 stanzas and abcb rhyming, blessings Roy
